To know more about the charismatic young lady, here is a brief interview she gave to Mokokchung Times.

MTimes: Thank You, Ayusang for the opportunity. So, to begin with… You’re a model, a social media influencer, you’ve been a winner of some beauty pageants and there’s just so many profiles attached with you. But how did you get started with your social media career in the first place?

Ayusang: First of all, thank you for this opportunity. I don’t exactly remember when I started using Instagram but I became more active after I won my first title i.e. Miss Mokokchung. I’ve always enjoyed making funny/fun/ trending videos and I realized that I can actually put a smile on someone’s face so that’s how it all started. To be honest, I have been quite inactive on Instagram for about more than a year but I think I’ve started missing the old me, so now I’ve been trying to put up something or the other on my Instagram account to keep my page engaged which not only brings me opportunities for paid collaborations but also platforms like this right now where I can share my story/journey with people.

MTimes: Did you ever think you’d grow this big?
Ayusang: I never even imagined being where I am today. I wouldn’t say its Big yet (as compared to others) but yes, I’m growing and learning little by little and I hope and pray that I achieve even better in the days to come.

MTimes: What is the best comment you’ve ever received?
Ayusang: I don’t know if I could come up with the best comment I’ve received but I would definitely say that I consider every comment I get equally valuable because it comes from people who genuinely love and support me, especially my family.

MTimes: Why do you think it’s worth going into online videos with all of the people already doing it?
Ayusang: ‘Everybody doing it’ is subjective in this online platform; some do it for money, fame or just to have fun. I have started my online videos which is something that I enjoy doing, and have never looked over the matter that a lot of people are doing it. It is a platform where anyone can put up contents that they like and have fun creating. Most of the time, I am inspired by so many of them. Because so many people do it, we learn from each other and even become great friends! It’s a wonderful experience and definitely worth it.

MTimes: Why do you think people enjoy the kind of content you create?
Ayusang: Every individual has different opinions about everything so I can’t exactly point out what my viewers like about my contents but according to the comments I’ve received so far, I think people like my contents because it’s usually more like a random mixture of every Indian curry. I don’t follow a specific genre, I do a little bit of everything like singing/music, lifestyle, Mukbang and fashion as well.

MTimes: Speaking about music, you also do a little bit of music such as playing drums and doing covers. Why didn’t you ever try pursuing a career in music?
Ayusang: I enjoy music a lot. I feel really happy through it. I am interested in it and would definitely love to learn more; however, I haven’t really thought of it as a career option. It is simply something I enjoy doing.

MTimes: Who is the other personality that influenced you the most?
Ayusang: I can’t say I’ve been influenced particularly by this or that person because I look up to so many people. In every field I step into, there are several individuals that influence me whether it’s in the glamour, singing, or any other industry for that matter. I try to take inspiration from various people.

MTimes: What is the best piece of advice you could give a newbie?
Ayusang: My only advice would be, keep doing what you love, don’t let anybody’s opinions or negativity undermine you. Never give up! Even if you fail, stand stronger and move forward and be consistent.

MTimes: If you were not doing this, what would you be doing?
Ayusang: I think I’d be just focusing on my studies if I weren’t doing all this. However, thankfully, now along with my studies because of opportunities through social media I’ve been able to earn a little and depend less on my parents for pocket money.

MTimes: How would you like to comment on the booming of different beauty pageants in Nagaland and its relevance?
Ayusang: Nagas are inherently beautiful and fashionable. It is therefore promising for us to pursue a career in the fashion industry when so many platforms for beauty pageants are available. And I feel positive that through such platforms not just women but even men get an opportunity to be recognized not just on the local or national platform but internationally as well.
