MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on Monday urged student leaders to uphold principles, integrity, and ideology, cautioning against becoming power driven leaders. He was addressing the 34th general session of the Phekmi Collegiate Forum at Phek Village Community Hall under the theme “Higher & Wiser for a Stronger Tomorrow.”

Emphasising the importance of values in leadership, Azo said the legacy “we leave behind is more important than our present status and position,” adding, “Therefore, we must create a legacy that will be loved, remembered, and cherished forever.” He called on student leaders to take decisions in the broader interest of the Nagas, stating, “To do this, one needs to make decisions in the greater interest of the Nagas in general, not for selfish ends or solely for the benefit of one’s tribe.”

“As Christians, we should not choose convenience over obedience, enthusiasm over reverence, or favouritism and nepotism over rights,” he said, adding, “Our intentions should be clear on what is right and deliver justice to the people we serve.” He reminded the gathering that positions are temporary but values endure, noting that “our legacy will live on forever, even after our death.”

PCF president Veshe Chizo said the theme calls on students “to aspire not only for academic achievement but also for greater wisdom rooted in values, discipline, faith, and social responsibility.” He added that PCF remains committed to nurturing socially responsible and community oriented leaders.

PCF general secretary Vephiyi Soho presented the activity report, while statistical secretary Krove Hoshi shared the membership data, noting that PCF currently has 2,231 registered members.
