The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Espace, Duncan Bosti, Dimapur. During the meeting, L Mongkum Jamir was reelected as the president for a second tenure.

Jamir outlined the vision for the next three years, emphasizing business enablement, financial access, policy advocacy, rural entrepreneurship, and the creation of a structured business ecosystem. He reiterated BAN’s commitment to aligning with India’s Viksit Bharat vision, aiming for economic self sufficiency, industrialization, and global business expansion.

Kvulo Lorin Chairman, NIDC / Director, Tetso College, in his keynote address urged the Naga business community to expand beyond local markets and compete at national and global levels.

He emphasized the need for digital transformation, financial literacy, and sustainable business growth, encouraging entrepreneurs to adopt technology-driven solutions, structured financial planning, and global business strategies. He highlighted the importance of collaboration over competition, urging businesses to form alliances for greater market reach. Recognizing BAN’s role in shaping the entrepreneurial ecosystem, he encouraged the association to take a proactive approach in policy advocacy and investment facilitation.

The newly elected office bearers of BAN for 2025-2027 are as follows: L Mongkum Jamir as President; Vice Presidents include Zubeno Mozhui (Women), Benthungo Kithan (State), Colo Mero (National), and Inoto Kinimi (International). Executive Council Members are Akum Jamir, Tiatemsu Longchar, Kedo Nagi, Renathung Ezung, Watila Longkumer, Nukuzo Phesao, Lezo Putsure, Achentiba Imchen, Azolo Nuh, Vikuto Asumi (Maj Retd), Lemjan Phom, Trongli Sangtam, Akherio Lazio, and Alobo Naga. Governing Council Members are Yan Murry, Thungbemo (Ex-President), and Vitho Zao (Ex-President). Advisors include Jwenga Seb, Thangi Manen, Nibu Nagi, and Ababe Ezung.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Business Association of Nagas (BAN) reaffirmed the association’s commitment to fostering a stronger, self-reliant, and globally competitive business community. With a clear roadmap laid out for the next three years, the newly elected leadership, along with BAN members, pledged to drive economic growth through entrepreneurship, innovation, and policy advocacy.

“The discussions and deliberations underscored the urgent need to expand market reach, embrace digital transformation, and build a robust business ecosystem that empowers local entrepreneurs while positioning Nagaland as a key player in national and international trade,” an update received here from BAN said.

As the meeting came to a close, it added that, the resounding message was clear: the time for action is now, and with unity, vision, and strategic execution, the Naga business community is poised for a transformative future.
