The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) on Thursday conducted a comprehensive capacity building programme in collaboration with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), aimed at enhancing financial literacy and improving awareness of MSME-focused credit schemes and financial facilities.

The programme provided a detailed overview of SIDBI’s direct lending products, including EXPRESS, SPEED, ARISE and STHAPAN, which offer financial assistance ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 50 crore for business expansion, modernisation, working capital needs and greenfield projects. Participants were also briefed on the PRAYAAS scheme for informal micro enterprises, green finance initiatives, GST Sahay for invoice-based financing, and thematic products tailored for women entrepreneurs, SC and ST communities, and export-oriented units.

The interactive session, facilitated by BAN members, highlighted the importance of financial preparedness, structured business planning and compliance with procedural requirements for accessing institutional credit. Entrepreneurs were guided on eligibility criteria, digital loan application processes and sound financial management practices.

Around 46 members attended the programme and actively participated in the discussions, seeking clarifications and gaining practical insights into formal financing options.

BAN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting entrepreneurial growth through continued awareness and capacity building initiatives and encouraged members to utilise SIDBI schemes for long-term and sustainable business development.
