Mokokchung, March 10 (MTNews): A joint congregation was organized by Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo & Sumi Baptist Church (B) Women Ministries under the theme “Beautiful Inside-Out” with the hash-tag ‘breakthebias’ in commemoration of International Women’s Day 2022 at MTBA Mother Church on Thursday.
Theme speaker of the day, Dr. L. Botoholi Yeptho, Associate Pastor Women, SBC (B) Mokokchung, highlighting on gender bias said, “When we talk of women’s issue, we’re talking of human issues and so it is everyone’s issue.”
While speaking on the theme, Dr. Yeptho added, “Beauty is more of confidence, kindness, happiness, dignity and intelligence.”
She further stressed that, one needs to remember they’re beautiful, while adding, “Well applied makeup enhance our appearance but no amount of eye shadow, mascara or lipstick could possibly compete with the natural attractiveness of an authentic smile.”
She also urged the participants to collectively try in breaking the bias faced by women in everyday life.
Earlier during the program, Shilula Imchen, APW, MTBA added on the significance of International Women’s Day while Dr. Apong B.Imchen spoke on ‘women who impacted my life’ and Moamenla Longkumer, Women Welfare Officer, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Mokokchung, formulated on a short challenge.
Limaonen Imchen, Lecturer, NBC and Livika Murru, APC, SBC (B) M, delivered short speeches on ‘all boys family’ and ‘all girls family.’
Melodious special number were presented during the program by Liju Achumi, Sumi Baptist Church (B) Mokokchung and Nagaland Bible College while a skit on the topic “breaking the bias” was performed under Onen Lemtur and Limamenba Imsong.
