Miss Nagaland 2025 first runner-up and Miss Mokokchung 2025, Bendangienla Longshir, brought her Beauty with a Purpose campaign, “Her Voice, Her Power,” to Süngkotenem Park, Mopungchuket Village, on October 20, engaging adolescent girls and women from self-help groups supported by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), BMMU Kobulong block.
During the program, Longshir shared experiences from her childhood and her journey in pageantry, encouraging participants to seize opportunities and build confidence.
Reflecting on her childhood, she shared that she had always wanted to contribute to society but was often not allowed to pursue such opportunities. This, she said, taught her the importance of making the most of the opportunities that come her way.
Encouraging the young girls to do the same, Longshir urged them not to let a lack of confidence hold them back from trying new things. She emphasised that confidence is developed over time rather than something people are necessarily born with.
The campaign aims to encourage women and young girls to recognise their potential, develop self-confidence and find their voice.
Longshir is also preparing to audition for North East Diva 2026, marking another step in her pageantry journey. She sought the community’s support for the upcoming audition and acknowledged the encouragement and support she has received so far.
