Mrs Bendangsenla, wife of late W Chubanungba of Longkhum village, passed away at Bethesda Hospital, Kohima, on September 2 following a brief illness. She was 95.
Bendangsenla was the eldest daughter of late Senkalemba, who served as Head Dobashi of Mokokchung district, and the eldest granddaughter of Temshimangyang, who also served as Head Dobashi of Mokokchung district during the colonial era. She was also the elder sister of former Nagaland Chief Minister and Governor Dr SC Jamir.
Her husband, late W Chubanungba, served as a Headmaster and was a member and later Chairman of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).
Her mortal remains will be cremated at her ancestral village, Longkhum, on September 3.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren.
