Kohima, 28 September (MTNews): Benjamin Yepthomi has formally assumed the role of President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagaland as the 11th State BJP President. The handover and felicitation ceremony took place today at the State BJP Headquarters in Kohima, attended by State Organizing Secretary Abhay Giri, BJP legislators, and dedicated party karyakartas (workers).
During his inaugural speech, Yepthomi called upon fellow party karyakartas to be a source of inspiration for one another and to maintain unwavering unity across all facets of the party. As the State BJP President, he urged karyakartas to fortify the party’s presence at the grassroots and booth levels, pledging to foster unity and growth on all fronts while refraining from any actions that would divide the party.
Expressing his profound gratitude to the outgoing state BJP President, Temjen Imna Along, BJP Legislature Party (BLP) Leader, and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, as well as all dedicated karyakartas, Yepthomi sought the support of every party worker who tirelessly fulfills their various roles.
Outgoing State President Along expressed confidence in Yepthomi’s leadership, describing him as a young and dynamic leader who would vigorously champion the ideal of “Service is above service.” He encouraged karyakartas to stand firmly behind the state president and expressed optimism that, under his stewardship, the party would drive development and prosperity to benefit every karyakarta and citizen.
With a sense of joy in becoming a karyakarta himself, Along pledged to act as a bridge between legislators and the party. BLP Leader Y Patton noted that Yepthomi’s appointment underscores the BJP’s firm belief in recognizing the hard work and dedication of karyakartas who have contributed significantly to the party’s growth and development.
