BJP National ST Morcha President and MP, Sameer Oraon declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only party that has recognized and brought the tribal community of India to the socio-economic and political forefront of the country.

 

The ST Morcha National President was speaking as the special guest at the executive meeting of the BJP ST Morcha, Nagaland State Unit held at Hotel Japfu on April 16 where Minister for Tribal Affairs & Higher Education and Nagaland BJP President Temjen Imna Along Longkumer along with a host of party leaders were present.

 

Since the year 2003, from the time of Late Atal Behari Vajpayee, the BJP has always worked for the welfare of the tribal community, said the National ST President. He further added that due to the visions of BJP, 12.5 million tribal people in the country are now in the political and economic forefront of the country.

 

Minister for Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, while speaking at the program, praised the ST Morcha, Nagaland unit for always being at the forefront in the service of the people. He highly congratulated the ST Morcha for their humanitarian works especially during the years 2020 and 2021, the unfortunate years of COVID-19 pandemic. He said that the good works rendered by the BJP ST Morcha all over the state, even in the midst of the virulent COVID 19 pandemic, will always be appreciated by the BJP and the people as a whole.

 

President of ST Morcha, Nagaland state unit, Awan Konyak, while delivering her presidential speech, said that the ‘ST Morcha BJP’ is often considered as the ‘Light Brigade’ where the karyakartas render help in every way possible for the welfare of the people.

 

She said that the BJP in Nagaland is making path breaking moves where the party boldly fielded and elected the first Naga woman MP in the person of Phanong Konyak as a member to Rajya Sabha. She further said that the ST Morcha will always endeavor for the rights and welfare of the Naga people and at the same time added that the Naga people, along with all the tribal communities in India, have great hopes as the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions for the country to move ahead.
