Mokokchung, 2 February (MTNews): PM Vishwakarma, a central scheme aimed at supporting traditional artisans and craftspeople in rural and urban India, has been launched. The BJP Mokokchung district, led by PM Vishwakarma co-convener Rongsenyanger, successfully concluded its second and final day of registration for qualified applicants at its district head office.
PM Vishwakarma has a financial outlay of Rs 13,000 crore, covering 18 traditional trades initially. Artisans and craftspeople will receive recognition through PM Vishwakarma certificates and ID cards.
PM Vishwakarma aims to provide credit support up to Rs. 1 lakh (1st tranche) and Rs. 2 lakhs (2nd tranche) with a concessional interest rate of 5%. The scheme will offer skill upgradation, toolkit incentives, incentives for digital transactions, and marketing support. One of the highlights of the scheme is that no collateral or guarantor is needed, and anyone can apply from any CSC unit/point.
