The Mokokchung District unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a ministerial berth for BJP MLA and senior politician Imkong L Imchen.
Imchen was elected on BJP ticket from 28-Koridang Assembly Constituency in the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly general elections held on February 27.
Speaking to Mokokchung Times, Imolemba, the president of BJP Mokokchung District said that Imchen was the lone candidate that was offered the BJP ticket among the 6 assembly seats that come under the purview of BJPMokokchung unit which the party had successfully won after a hard fought campaign. “We have given a 100% win result,” he said.
Imolemba said that being a 5-time MLA and a veteran politician, Imchen deserves a ministerial berth, further adding that the central leaders as well as the state leaders should by any means allocate one to him.
Sources said that a meeting of NDPP and its alliance partner BJP is scheduled to be held on Sunday. NDPP Legislature Party leader Rio is likely to stake his claim to form the next government on Monday, sources also said.
