The BJP Mokokchung District has sought “clear and official clarification” from the NDPP high command on whether the alliance between the NDPP and BJP is still intact or if there has been a revocation of the same.
According to the BJP Mokokchung, it is now imperative for the NDPP high command to address these concerns promptly and provide a definitive statement on the current status of their alliance with the BJP.
The BJP Mokokchung said that the recent announcement by Moatoshi Longkumer, the NDPP MLA from Dimapur II Assembly Constituency, has sparked confusion and concern.
“Moatoshi declared that there would be no seat-sharing arrangement with the NDPP for the Nagaland ULB Election 2024. This statement contradicts the directive given to the BJP Mokokchung District, which, as an alliance partner with the NDPP, received orders from the BJP high command to support NDPP candidates wherever their interests coincide,” the BJP Mokokchung stated.
Adding to the controversy, the BJP Mokokchung highlighted how Moatoshi also addressed the recent election loss of Dr Chumben Murry, an NDPP candidate by attributing the defeat to external factors such as Hindu fanatics, RSS, Bajrang Dal, and some BJP workers and not the issues within the NDPP’s working system and State Government Policy.
According to the BJP Mokokchung District, blaming external factors is not logical in politics, indicating that the reasons for the loss might lie within the internal paradigm.
Therefore, the BJP Mokokchung sought clarification to maintain transparency, ensure cohesive election strategies, and uphold the trust of both the electorate and party members.
