A one-day block-level capacity building training was conducted for Mangkolemba Block on March 12, focusing on the functionality and operation & maintenance (O&M) of assets implemented under the Swachh Bharat Mission – Grameen and the Jal Jeevan Mission.
District Coordinator Tsungrusungla Jamir explained the purpose of various assets, such as community sanitary complexes, community compost pits, and soak pits, and urged participants to utilize and maintain them. She also emphasized the importance of collecting water bills in the village, maintaining proper revenue records, and ensuring that the revenue collected is used for the operation and maintenance of the village water supply system.
District IEC Consultant Rongsentola conducted an online WhatsApp-based Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Academy test for all participants. IEC pamphlets and posters on waste segregation, the use of compost pits, soak pits, twin-pit toilets, basic hygiene, and good sanitary practices were distributed.
