Jorhat, November 30 (MTNews): A book in honor of Rev Prof Dr FS Downs, titled ‘Christianity and Social Transformation among Tribes of NEI: Essays in Honor of Frederick S. Downs’ was released today at Eastern Theological College (ETC), Jorhat.
The book was released by Rev Prof Dr Shimreingam Shimray, the Principal of ETC. He briefed the gathering on the life and witness of Prof FS Downs and his immense contributions to ETC.
The book was edited by Rev Prof Dr Wati Longchar, Rev Prof Dr Woba James and Rev Dr Elungkiebe Zeliang.
According to a press release from ETC, the book consists of articles from scholars representing the states of North East India.
Prof Woba James, one of the editors, introduced the book and highlighted the importance of this book whilst briefly sharing the contributions of Prof FS Downs.
The program was led by Rev Dr Phanenmo Kath, the Dean of PG Studies and a special prayer was offered by Rev Prof Dr Razouselie Lasetso, the Vice Principal of ETC.
