Mokokchung, 1 April (MTNews): As a sharp rise in COVID cases was noted in India over the last 4 weeks where on 30 March 2023, 3016 positive cases were detected with Test Positivity Rate of 2.73%, the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland released a brief status report of Covid-19 Pandemic today.

 

Brief status from April 2020 till 31st March 2023:

 

• 1st Positive case in India was detected on 30 January 2020 in Kerala from returnees from China.

• 1st Positive cases detected on 25 May 2020 from returnees.

• During the 1st Wave, 120246 tests were conducted with 11927 positive cases and 79 Deaths recorded. The Positivity rate was 9.91%.

• In the 2nd Wave, 302526 tests were conducted with 20274 positive cases and 623 Deaths recorded. The Positivity rate was 6.70%.

• Then in the 3rd Wave, 63382 tests were conducted with 3785 positive cases and 80deaths recorded. The Positivity rate was 5.97%.

• The deaths include both COVID-19 deaths (777) and Non-CovidDeaths(5).

• Overall, as on 31st March 2023,488819Samples have been tested with 35988 positive cases and 777 deaths. The overall positivity rate is 7.36%.

• The overall Death rate is 2.15%.

 

Nagaland Covid-19 Scenario as on 31 March 2023

 

• Average Daily test is 20-30 Tests.

• The last reported case of Covid-19 in the State was on 11th February 2023.

• For Public Health Preparedness, Mock Drill was conducted on 27th December 2022 in Nagaland, where 85 Health Units participated.

• The next Mock Drill will be conducted on 10th& 11th April 2023.

• The State has enough bed capacity, both Oxygen supported and ICU beds.
