Food Safety & Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) awareness Camp for butchers, fish vendors & poultry stalls within Mokokchung Town was organized by Mokokchung Municipal Council and Food Safety Mokokchung Zone on 31st March 2022 at MMC Hall.
In the program, DC & Administrator of MMC, Shashant Pratap Singh, IAS spoke on the importance of food safety and stressed on maintaining of strict hygiene in the meat and fish stalls which in turn will lead to serving of safe food to the general public.
Designated Officer (Food Safety), C. Merenlemba Ao sensitized the gathering on the various aspects of FSSAI such as following Schedule IV of FSSA which outlines the specific points of maintaining sanitation and hygiene in the premises, transportation of meat, personnel hygiene etc and also on the importance of getting registered under FSSAI.
He stressed that food safety is everyone’s responsibility and self compliance is what will drive FSSA act successfully.
After the program online FSSAI registration for the FBOs was conducted.
