Chumoukedima, 15 September: The final of the 8th Public Speaking Championship 2026 was held at the GK Auditorium, C-Edge College, on September 15, with Hoto I Swu of BBA V Semester emerging as champion.
The competition was preceded by a two-week training programme focused on speech structure, vocal delivery, stage presence and confidence. Registered students then participated in preliminary qualifiers, followed by a pre-final evaluated on articulation and content.
The judges selected five finalists for the final round. Hoto I Swu won the championship with a speech titled “The other way around”. Ningthuiliu, also of BBA V Semester, was declared first runner-up for the speech “Just this one”, while Mughakivi of BBA V Semester secured second runner-up with “The Art of Quitting”.
The other finalists were Zakali of BA III Semester and Sneha Dey of BBA V Semester.
The Public Speaking Championship is a major annual college event sponsored by Principal Emeritus Dr Chubatola Aier.
