The NSS Unit of C-Edge College, Chumoukedima, observed NSS Foundation Day on September 26 by organising a cleanliness drive across the college campus and along the main approach highway.
NSS volunteers, students, faculty members and EU members participated in clearing plastic waste and other litter as part of the initiative aimed at promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
The drive was also conducted in line with the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026, being observed from September 17 to October 2. Supported by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for AICTE-approved institutions, the campaign carries the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, emphasising public participation in promoting cleanliness and building a developed India.
The NSS Unit said the initiative reflected the spirit of community participation and social responsibility promoted by the National Service Scheme. It also reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to cleanliness, environmental responsibility and active community engagement.
