Khulazu Basa, January 6 (MTNews): The 36th session of the Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship (CABYF) got underway at Khulazu Basa village, Phek district under the theme ‘stand firm’ today.
Delegates from nine villages under Chokri area, Phek district, including Khulazu Bawe, Thenyizu, Chetheba town, Khulazu Basa, North Kikruma, Chesezu, Thipuzu, Phusachodu, Kikruma, are participating in the session.
Chairman, Chokri Area Baptist Church Council, Rev. Vevotso Theluo while hoisting the flag said that everything has a starting and that the fellowship will also come to a start.
Kehuve Chuzho, pastor of Khulazu Basa Baptist Church, spoke on the topic ‘stand firm in the truth’. He said that works done by Jesus Christ are all perfect but were ruined by man himself.
“Are we trying to get in front of Jesus by following lies? Let’s not. We shall not. We should stand firm in truth,” he challenged the gathering.
Chuzho said that bad behaviors like dishonoring parents, elders, engaging in anti-social activities, are very common “in this generation.” He called upon the youths to follow the right path and reminded them that what they sow today will be reaped tomorrow.
Among other competitions throughout the three-day long program, solo competition from all the nine villages was witnessed on the first day.
Earlier, during the opening ceremony, host church Khulazu Basa Children Ministry performed choreography.
