The Chakhro Angami Kuda Students’ Union (CAKSU) has expressed deep concern over the unchecked influx of illegal immigrants into Nagaland and has voiced strong support for the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) in its efforts to ensure effective implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system, particularly in Dimapur district.
In a statement, CAKSU condemned the recent intimidation and threats directed at DNSU members as they conducted data collection for the ILP. CAKSU reiterated its full support for DNSU, emphasizing that the ILP issue is critical for safeguarding Naga rights and identity. “The ILP issue is crucial for the protection of our rights and identity, and CAKSU remains fully committed to addressing it with sincerity,” the statement stated.
CAKSU praised the work of DNSU, asserting that it benefits all Nagas and that any attempt to undermine Naga identity and interests will not be tolerated. “The work being done by DNSU benefits all Nagas, and any attempt to jeopardise Naga identity and Naga interests will not be tolerated,” CAKSU stated.
The union warned those attempting to derail DNSU’s efforts, asserting, “To all those who are deliberately trying to threaten and derail the collective efforts of the DNSU and its units towards the implementation of Inner Line Permit within Dimapur, let it be known that we will not be intimidated by your narrow mindset in pursuit of selfish gain.” CAKSU emphasized its commitment to fighting for Naga rights and preserving cultural identity.
CAKSU also called upon all right-thinking citizens to unite and ensure that the ILP implementation proceeds without fear or intimidation. “This is a collective issue, and it requires our collective effort,” the statement added.
