Mokokchung, August 7 (MTNews): The United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-KYA) have called for a total boycott of the 75th Indian Independence Day on August 15, 2022, from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., NLTV reported. The boycott is being called for in five states: Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, and Meghalaya.

The organizations have asked all officials of all levels in those states not to join in the “fake Independence Day celebrations.” The organizations stated that the emergency department, the media, and religious activities are not restricted.

The organizations defended their call by claiming that, despite 75 years of independence, indigenous people are still struggling with the GST, soaring prices of essential commodities, and a variety of other issues.
