Mokokchung, September 20 (MTNews): A one-day Adolescent Sports Meet was conducted by Can Youth under its Project Development 4 Adolescent with support from ‘IdeA – The Ant’ on the theme “Ignite the team spirit” at Hazadisa village, Dhansiripar on 17th September, 2022 with Phiju Langthasa, Head GB Doyapur cum Dimasa GB Union President and Ranesh Langthasa, Council Chairman, Hazadisa village as Special Guest and Guest of Honor respectively.
A total of seven adolescent clubs from Hazadisa village, Darogajan Village, Doyapur village, Ganeshnagar village, Munglumukh village, Khekiho village and Neisatuo Colony, Dimapur participated.
Sentiwati Kichu, Program Manager in his welcome note briefed about the organization and its Mission, Vision and Objective. He also highlighted the purpose of organizing the sports meet is to promote the leadership spirit, peace & unity, promotion of their skills in sports and creating sensitization on healthy living including substance abuse and its negative effects.
Guest of Honour Ranesh Langthasa, Council Chairman of Hazadisa village delivered a short speech where he said that “it is important to focus on sports through that we can improve ourselves hand in hand with other aspects”.
He also encouraged everyone “to learn something good from the sports with cooperation which can build leadership and team work”.
Special Guest Phiju Langthasa appreciated the organizers and Adolescent Support Group for their efforts and urged the community leaders to give importance to the lives of adolescents.
One Day Adolescents Club Sports meet was held in two events: Football (both boys and girls) and Athletics games. The overall champion of One Day Adolescent Sports Meet was bagged by Hazadisa Village followed by Doyapur village and Neisatuo colony, Dimapur as 1st and 2nd Runners up.
