Mokokchung, October 9 (MTNews): In a poignant tribute to its late Social & Cultural Secretary, Imnayachet Mollier, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) organized a candlelight service at the AKM Office premises in Mokokchung on Monday evening. The service was attended by representatives of Ao Senden, Watsü Mungdang, students, and well-wishers.
Lanutoshi Aier, President of AKM, in his presidential address fondly remembered his departed colleague as a sincere and dedicated individual who consistently delivered on his responsibilities. President Aier described him as a capable individual with a warm and loving personality, highlighting his invaluable contributions to AKM and various civil society organizations since his college days. Aier emphasized that Mollier’s passing was a significant loss for the entire Ao and Naga community. He spoke of the void left by Mollier’s untimely departure and that his passing away has left a vacuum that will be hard to fill.
Aier also shared that on the day of his tragic passing, Mollier was on his way to Kohima to deliver a presentation on the Ao Students’ Conference’s “Ariju Centre” Project at a meeting with the Chief Secretary.
Aier expressed his disbelief at the loss, given that he had worked with Mollier for seven months, and said that the late secretary’s influence extended beyond their organization.
The president concluded his speech by beseeching the gathered to uphold Mollier’s family and his mother, and to pray that no tragedy would befall on AKM again.
President Aier reassured that despite this immense loss, the remaining members of AKM’s leadership were committed to continuing their mission, and called upon everyone to keep them in their prayers as they continue their work.
Temsüwati Kichu, Associate Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church, shared the word of God. He encouraged everyone to cherish Mollier’s memory rather than mourn his loss, and to let his deeds be a channel of blessings.
The service commenced with the lighting of candles in honor of the deceased, creating a solemn and reflective atmosphere. The program was chaired by Onenpong, Vice President AKM, while S Arenla Longkumer, President Watsü Mungdang, pronounced the invocation prayer. The event concluded with a mass prayer, uniting everyone in their shared grief and resolve to honor the memory of Late Imnayachet Mollier.
