Lüshe FC and Headhunters FC showcased their attacking prowess with emphatic victories in their respective matches of the 9th Edition of the Capt N Kenguruse, MVC Memorial Football Tournament here at IG Stadium Kohima today.
Lüshe FC produced a stunning display of attacking football to dismantle Auyang FC 6–0. The onslaught began in the 11th minute, when Tohika broke the deadlock, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Thulunso emerged as the hero of the match, netting a brilliant hat-trick with goals in the 28th, 40+3rd, and 52nd minutes, exhibiting superb composure and finishing. The victory was sealed late in the game as Shovelo (73’) and Eneibe (78’) added their names to the scoresheet, completing a commanding win.
Thulunso’s treble marked the first hat-trick of the tournament.
Defending champions Headhunters FC ran riot against Detroit FC, registering a staggering 14–0 victory.
Manton opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, before Laiwang stole the spotlight with an extraordinary eight-goal haul (8’, 17’, 36’, 38’, 50’, 69’, 79’, 80+1’). The relentless attack continued as Chingsha scored twice (61’, 74’), while Haotingmang (71’), Zarenthung (72’), and Visakho (76’) each contributed a goal to the landslide victory.
With this performance, Laiwang now leads the goal-scoring charts with 8 goals, setting a high bar for the rest of the tournament.
