Mokokchung, 25 November (MTNews): In the ongoing global battle against waste, the Youth Ministry of Sungkomen Baptist Church organized a cleanliness drive, marking another initiative under its ‘Care to Clean Mission.’
On November 25, 2023, the youth group focused their efforts on cleaning the “dumping area” near the taxi parking point at Mokokchung town square. The church coordinated various mission-oriented activities, and recognizing the world’s struggle with plastic pollution and garbage, the Sungkomen Youth Ministry undertook the cleanup on Saturday with the objective to raise awareness about individual responsibility for cleanliness.
Appreciating the initiative, the Mokokchung Municipal Council took to its official social media handle on Instagram to say: “In the fight against garbage, Mokokchung town has witnessed various communities, organisations, ward authorities and church ministries coming forward and rendering their valuable service from time to time. Only through such selfless acts and community participation can we make our town really clean and beautiful. Let us all, as responsible citizens of the town, join the fight against garbage and make our town beautiful, clean and healthy.”
