The Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) on August 7 reviewed the progress of the under-construction Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office complexes in Dimapur and Niuland.
The inspection was led by Assistant Chief Engineer, CAWD, Er. Sungtiba Amer, accompanied by CAWD officials, administrative officers, engineers and representatives of the executing contractors.
At the Dimapur site, Amer said the project was progressing satisfactorily and stressed the need to maintain quality workmanship. The G+2 complex, designed by the Chief Architect, PWD (Planning & Design), is being executed by CAWD. The original work order was for 24 months from November 7, 2025. However, as construction could begin only after dismantling the old building, the effective work period is to be extended by seven months.
The team later inspected the G+3 DC office complex at Niuland, being constructed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme since 2024. Deputy Commissioner T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir and officials joined the inspection. Amer directed the contractor to complete the project within the stipulated period while maintaining quality standards.
During both inspections, he emphasised quality, durability and timely execution, noting that the complexes would serve the administration and people for decades.
Amer thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for prioritising administrative infrastructure and providing funding for such projects. He also acknowledged support for DC complexes in Tuensang, Noklak, Shamator, Wokha, Tseminyu, Meluri and Zunheboto.
The inspection was Amer’s final official field visit before his retirement later this month. He thanked officials and stakeholders for their cooperation and credited teamwork for CAWD’s achievements.
