The Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) on Tuesday conducted its 2nd Cultural Meet 2026 under the theme “Sowing Seeds of Our Culture: Harvesting a Brighter Future” at Lower Khomi Village in Phek district.
Thiipuvecho Vadeo, President of the Chakhesang Union Chümoukedima, graced the occasion as the special guest. Addressing the gathering, Vadeo urged the younger generation to avoid imitating Western culture and encouraged them to uphold and preserve their unique traditions and cultural identity. He also stressed the importance of adopting traditional leadership selection processes practised in earlier times.
Greetings were delivered by Sekriizii Area Sports Association (SASA) President Khokuto Sapu, while a short speech was presented by Veyesa Khesoh, former Village Council Chairman.
The inaugural programme was led by Vesiito D. Vadeo, CCSA representative to the Phek District Sports Association (PDSA), while Vepothi Lala, Pastor of Lower Khomi Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessings. The welcome address was delivered by CCSA President Dode Nakro.
Pholami Youth Organization presented a folk tune during the programme.
The cultural meet featured competitions in Makro Phetho, Roce Kiice, Mikiina Li, Mida Li with Tati, Mikiina Dotho, Mucii, Thiizo Siipiih (Women), and Phesii. The judging panel comprised Riiyingoyi Tetseo, Theyeta Nakro, Shevociiyi Thuluo, Vezota Nakro, Miidosii Kezo, Vezhosayi Lohe, and Thiijoveyi Keroh.
Prize distribution was led by CCSA Social and Cultural Secretary Therayi Lohe, while the vote of thanks was proposed by CCSA Advisor Thiivoswiiyi Lohe. The de-hosting and act of blessing were pronounced by Vepoduyi Vero, Associate Pastor, Upper Khomi Baptist Church.
The event was compered by Vediisalii Tetseo and Veyozo D. Vedeo. The 2nd Cultural Meet was hosted by the Lower Khomi Youth Organization.
