Mokokchung Police, in coordination with Tuensang Police, arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the theft of a Maruti 800 from a garage at Yimyu Ward, Mokokchung, on September 28, and recovered the stolen vehicle.
According to police, the accused was identified as Shillam, son of late Thaming, of Thonoknyu Village, Noklak district, and presently residing at Old Medical ‘B’ Ward, Tuensang. Investigation further revealed that the grey Maruti 800 had also allegedly been stolen by the accused from Tuensang, police said.
The accused was apprehended in Tuensang following a pursuit after he allegedly attempted to flee. He was brought to Mokokchung on October 3 and produced before the court, which remanded him to police custody.
