The House Listing Operations (HLO) for Census 2027 commenced in Nagaland on July 1, with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio urging citizens to actively participate in the exercise and provide accurate information to census officials.
In a message, Rio said public participation is vital to creating reliable data for better planning, development and informed decision-making in the future.
As part of the exercise, the house listing of Lok Bhavan, Kohima, the official residence of Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav, was conducted on Wednesday.
The house listing at Lok Bhavan was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer, Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, in the presence of the City Census Officer and other census officials.
Officials said the exercise was completed smoothly in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
The House Listing Operations and Housing Census form the first phase of Census 2027 and involve the collection of information on housing conditions, amenities and household characteristics across the state.
