CEO Nagaland says state fully prepared for upcoming Lok Sabha election

Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland, Vyasan R, has announced that the state is fully prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, aiming for smooth, free, and fair polls. Speaking exclusively to Akashvani News Kohima today, Vyasan revealed that 48 companies of the Central Armed Police Force have arrived in the state. Additionally, the District Executive Forces, Home Guards, and Village Guards will be deployed for poll duty across the state.

Vyasan further stated that the international borders will be manned by the Assam Rifles, while the civil administration, especially the Flying Squad and static surveillance teams, are intercepting any illegal money and drugs.

The CEO informed that 13,17,536 registered voters will be casting their votes at 2,342 polling stations across the state. There will be 513 all-women polling stations spread throughout the state, and four polling stations will be managed by Persons With Disabilities in Kohima, Phek, Mokokchung, and Tuensang.

Highlighting security concerns, Vyasan mentioned that about 625 polling stations have been identified as vulnerable and critical. Regarding monetary value seizures, he reported that the state police have seized Rs 1,07,81,225, while the excise department has seized Rs13,95,223.

Emphasizing the importance of elections as a celebration of democracy, the CEO appealed to all eligible voters, including members of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), to cast their votes on polling day.
