In an effort to promote the regular donation of blood and raise awareness about its lifesaving potential, the Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) has announced a Blood Donation Camp to be held on August 17, 2024. The event, which will take place at Rev Zhaviu Khro Memorial Hospital near Saturday Bazaar in Chumoukedima, is scheduled to start at 9:00 am and is organized in collaboration with the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, 4th Mile, Chumoukedima.
The CPO aims to inculcate the habit of donating blood regularly among healthy citizens every four months, as the blood in a healthy person regenerates itself after 90 days. They also seek to create awareness that donating blood under expert medical supervision is safe, and to instill in people’s minds that blood donation by healthy individuals can save precious lives in need of urgent blood transfusions. Furthermore, the organization wants to impress upon the community that the lives of patients in ICUs can be saved by blood donated by donors of different races, castes, or creeds. This initiative also commemorates the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Chakhroma Public Organization.
The Chakhroma Public Organization appealed to all Angami villagers, churches, and the various communities and tribal organizations in the Chakhroma area to come forward in large numbers on August 17, 2024, to participate in the Blood Donation Camp.
