Mongsenyimti, August 2 (MTNews): Chakpa village under Langpangkong Range of Mokokchung district, located about 15 kms from the district headquarters, is a unique village in Mokokchung in that it is inhabited by two Naga tribes – Ao and Chang. Expressing surprise at this uniqueness, Nagaland Advisor for Technical Education & Elections, Medo Yhokha said that the peaceful co-existence of Chang and Ao tribes in Chakpa village is a positive example for peace and unity for the rest of the Nagas.

Yhokha learnt about this uniqueness of Chakpa village during his maiden visit to Mongsenyimti village where he attended Tsüngremmung festival along with his fellow legislator Tongpang Ozukum.

 

While delivering his Tsüngremmung speech, Yhokha said that the village of Chakpa serve as a positive example for peace and unity for the rest of the Nagas, “especially during these trying times when the Naga society is fragmented while seeking for a common and peaceful solution to the Naga political issue.”
