Chümoukedima, 11 April (MTNews):  The Chakroma Public Organisation (CPO) and the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) have reaffirmed their earlier resolution to work together to strengthen their relationship and jointly pursue to bring peace and foster unity amongst the tribes and jointly pursue welfare and developmental activities of the newly created districts of Niuland and Chumoukedima district and their indigenous inhabitants.

This was resolved during a Co-ordination Committee Meeting of the CPO and the WSH on 11 April 2024 at CPO Hall, Chümoukedima.  Various other issues concerning the welfare of both CPO and WSH were also discussed during the meeting.

It was suggested that the Dhansiripar JCC should, after the Parliamentary Election, follow up on their file/application with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) which was submitted earlier. On this, CPO & WSH will extend further support after examining their points and demands and update on it.

Further, a collaborative meeting was proposed between Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) and the WSH to discuss the issue related to the construction of a guest house at the Kiyevi-Lamhainamdi border, a project initiated by the Tenyimi Youth Organisation (TYO).

Both organizations (TUD and WSH) are expected to come forward together to address any potential concerns or issues related to the project. It was resolved that participation and further consultations are greatly anticipated from all the concerned parties involved to work towards a mutually beneficial development in the spirit of Naga brotherhood.

During the meeting, it was also resolved that the WSH fully supports the CPO’s stand on the issue of giving Grade IV employment in the government departments to the indigenous inhabitants of Chümoukedima. On this, it was decided that the WSH will have a discussion with the CPO  for further necessary action.
