Changtongya Town Baptist Church (CTBA) organised a special revival programme from September 11 to 13, 2026, where hundreds of believers were blessed and rededicated their lives to Christ.
The revival programme gained special significance in the church’s calendar as it commemorated the 50th anniversary of the revival fire that ignited in Changtongya town in 1976. The Christian revival of the late 1970s is a memorable milestone in Nagaland’s religious history, marking a turning point when revival programmes were held with much fervour, and the Holy Spirit moved believers to experience miracles and accept Christ with renewed faith. Changtongya Town Baptist Arogo was one of the first churches where the revival fire was ignited.
The 50th anniversary commemorative revival was held on the theme based on Psalm 85:6, “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” Dr Chujang Aier, president of International Evangelistic Fellowship (IEF), was the main speaker throughout the programme. He was assisted by a team of dedicated counsellors from different churches.
During the programme, different believers shared life testimonies, speaking of the life-changing power of Jesus Christ and rejuvenating the spirit of the congregation. Among them was Asangla Luen, daughter of Rev M.I. Luen, former pastor of CTBA and one of the pioneers of the Nagaland Revival movement. She also testified about the power of the Holy Spirit and presented CTBA with a memento commemorating the early revival movement of the 1970s.
A healing service was also held on the last day after the devotional service, which was conducted by Sashi Kichu, pastor of Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church.
During the healing programme, many ill and weary people from Changtongya town and outside, including those who joined through the online livestream, were prayed for by the healing team. Those seeking physical and spiritual healing approached the prayer warriors and sought the healing power of Christ.
