The stage is set for a grand finale as Chedema Village Youth Organisation (CVYO) and Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) lock horns in the final match of the 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy on October 18 (Saturday) at 4:30 PM at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

Both teams have dazzled throughout the tournament with commanding performances, tactical brilliance, and unmatched spirit — promising a final that could go down as one of the most memorable encounters in the tournament’s history.

However, on the other side of the story, tensions are set to run high as the final match approaches, with a charged Kuki vs Meitei dynamic adding extra heat to the contest. Nagaland United SC likely to field a strong Meitei contingent of seven players, while Chedema boasts an 11-strong Kuki lineup. Both teams bring fierce determination and a deep sense of regional pride, promising a high-voltage showdown of the grand finale.

CVYO, one of the most consistent and disciplined sides this season, book their ticket to the final after a nail-biting 2–1 triumph over defending champions Sechü Zubza FC in the first semi-final. From their resounding 7–0 victory over Amigos FC Tesophenyu to clinical wins over Kidima Farmers United (2–0), United Brothers FC (7–1), Rever Gangtok SC (4–0), and Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (2–1), CVYO have showcased a formidable blend of teamwork and determination.

In total, they have netted 22 goals while conceding just two — a remarkable record that underscores their dominance. Their goalkeeper is likely tip for the golden gloves having conceded two goals only in the tournament. However, Chedema may miss their winger Benjamin who is out on a red card and is irreplaceable.

On the other hand, Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) have got their wild card entry giving them a direct slot to the pre-quarterfinal round. In the second semi-final, NUSC dismantled Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (ALT) with a commanding 4–0 victory, putting on a clinical display of attacking football and composure. Earlier in the tournament, they edged past the spirited Moa Students Union 2-1 in the quarter-finals. while defeated Dimapur Chaos by 7-0 in the first debut match.

With both CVYO and NUSC known for their high-pressing style, quick transitions, and fearless attacking play, fans can expect fireworks when the two giants collide on Friday evening.

The final promises not only to decide who lifts the prestigious NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025 but also decides a new champion of the tournament.
