Kohima, September 30 (MTNews): The farewell program of outgoing Director of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Chiden Yaden was held at the Multi Purpose Hall at the Directorate, Kohima on 30th September 2022.

 

 

Joint Director Savio Visa said that Yaden has always been quick to share his ideas and opinions and that his decisions have always been on the right track.

 

“The department will remember his contribution and appreciate his expertise on many projects and programs,” he said, adding that his ideas have always been an inspiration to him and to the department.

 

Visa further mentioned some of programs and projects which were achieved during Chiden Yaden’s time, such as: Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) Project where “Tracer study” through Nagaland University was initiated to understand the placement status of ITI passed out trainees.

 

Another project, “Bridging Skill Gaps to Youth Aspiration and Opportunities” was also initiated through Skills Acquisition & Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKLAP) Project while Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure for NE States & Sikkim where 4 new Industrial Training Institutes were all established in the State during Chiden’s time.

 

State funded Skill Development Programs like multi-skilled technician program, collaboration with IIT Madras for higher level skill enhancement program for graduate engineers, promotion of livelihood opportunities through backyard poultry at Aspirational District Kiphire, and establishment of School of Excellence in Skill Development and National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled were also established during his tenure.

 

Outgoing Director Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Chiden Yaden during his farewell speech acknowledged that the success achieved during his time as the Director was due to “hard work and the sense of teamwork provided by his colleagues at the Directorate as well as the Districts.”

 

He encouraged the District officers not to get discouraged and give their best despite the challenges such as limited resources and limited facilities that they will be facing.

 

Secretary, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, mentioned that Yaden as a Director was commendable and that he was a jovial human being.

 

The Secretary further said that the Directorate reached new heights under his leadership and added that he had been instrumental in touching the lives of more than 50,000 people.
