Kohima, August 12 (MTNews): The “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign which is a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations was officially launched on 12th August 2022 at World War II Museum, Kisama with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as the special guest. The event started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Minister.
Rio in his address said that, along with the rest of the country, the state is fully participating in the celebrations of the Country’s 75 years of Independence by organizing several programs and activities since 12 March 2021 and will continue till next year. He said, for a country to achieve 75 years of freedom and Independence, it deserves a special celebration and hoisting a National flag is a way of showing respect and commitment towards the freedom.
Rio said National Flag is a symbol of pride and a hard earned freedom. He also informed that the state government has ordered 4.5 lakhs of National flag so that it reach all the headquarters and hoisted in all houses. The Chief Minister further urged every citizen of the state to participate and hoist the Tricolor atop residences particularly from 13th to 15th August and make the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign a grand success.
Rio also expressed hope that the Naga political issue will be resolved soon. The Chief Minister said that all should work towards the resolution of the Naga political issue so that there is peace, progress and development not only for the present but for generations to come.
J. Alam, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland, who chaired the launching program, in his opening remarks said that the celebrations of the 75 years of Independence under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was a momentous occasion and an important milestone for the country and its people. He also mentioned that the occasion is being celebrated in a befitting manner not just in the State but across the country and the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is an integral and symbolic part of the celebrations and hence encouraged one and all to actively participate in the campaign.
Advisor Youth Resources and Sports, Er. Zale Neikha, and Advisor Technical Education, Election, Medo Yhokhaalso spoke at the event.
Apart from houses, the flag will be hoisted in PSUs, local self-government bodies, government, educational institutions, commercial establishments and private firms.
