Children School, one of the oldest schools in Mokokchung district, held its Literary Day 2024 with the theme ‘Excelsior’. An array of activities involving all students from nursery to Class X was perfectly conducted at the beautiful Aongza Ki (Aongza Ward Council building). The event was made even more memorable with the attendance of parents, who watched their children perform in various activities.
Headmistress Toshimenla, in her welcome address, encouraged the students, saying, “Your voice matters, and your stories deserve to be told.” She further stated, “As we gather to cherish the power of words, celebrate the magic of language, and recognize the literary talents among us, our school has always believed in fostering a love for creative expressions in literature.”
The nearly four-hour program featured a range of activities, with the Prepared Speech being a main highlight. Ameer and Rongsentula from Class X were adjudged winners. In the Spelling Bee competition (Ao vocabulary), Imnasenla and Talisen, both from Class 7, were declared winners.
The program was emceed by Imtisenla, while Imtijungla invoked God’s blessing. The vote of thanks was delivered by Pursenla, the Convener of the Literary Committee.
