President of the District Congress Committee (DCC) Tuensang, Chotsase Sangtam, attended the closing ceremony of the Chare Area Army Ex-Servicemen Open Volleyball Trophy as the Guest of Honour. The event, held at Kiding Village in Tuensang District, marked the conclusion of the tournament, which has been a significant annual event for the past 26 years.

During his speech, Sangtam commended the organizers for their dedication to promoting sports and unity in the area. He acknowledged the tournament’s role in identifying and nurturing young talent, emphasizing its contribution to the growth of sports in the region.

”This trophy has become a stepping stone for many players in the area. I encourage all the participants to strive for higher goals and showcase their talents at state, national, and international levels,” he remarked.

Adding to the significance of the day, 11 ex-servicemen officially joined the Congress party during the event. Sangtam warmly welcomed them into the party, expressing confidence that their experience and dedication would strengthen the party’s vision and efforts in the district.

The closing ceremony concluded with the final match of the tournament, followed by a prize distribution. The vibrant atmosphere reflected the community’s enthusiasm for sports and their shared commitment to progress.
