Chümoukedima, 22 December (MTNews): The Chümoukedima Ao Youth Organization (CALT) has strongly condemned the harassment and forcible extortion demand of Rs 50 lakh made by the NSCN (K) Khango group against Aolemba Longkumer on December 16, 2024. In a press release, CALT stated that Longkumer is a bona fide resident of 7th Mile, Chümoukedima, an active member of CALT, and the Chairman of the Country Craft Development Society.

“Mr Longkumer being a President’s and a Governor’s awardee from Nagaland deserves to be respected not harassed,” CALT stated.

The organization also noted that it had lodged an FIR regarding this matter at the Chümoukedima Police Station on December 17, 2024, and has since been waiting for the law to take appropriate action. However, CALT expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in apprehending the culprits who brazenly made the extortion demand.

“Therefore, CALT requests the concerned authority to arrest the culprits at the earliest and ensure the safety of its members,” it added.
