Chümoukedima, July 14 (MTNews): The Chümoukedima Town Angami Mechü Krotho (CTAMK), the apex body of all CSOs under Chümoukedima town, has on July 9 reaffirmed the Angami Public Organization resolution and the Chümoukedima public resolution of 14th February, 2017 for ‘One government, One tax.
The meeting was attended by representatives of GB Union Chümoukedima Town, Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town, Chümoukedima Town Women Organisation, Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation, Chümoukedima Town Students Union and Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association.
“No taxation will be paid to any entity unless the NPGs come together to work collectively for one cause,” the meeting resolved. CTAMK resolved this due to reports of numerous taxation being forcefully imposed on the business community under Chümoukedima jurisdiction.
“The business community are requested to reach the Anti Extortion Team helpline at 8787893133 for any assistance. Any business person willingly complying with the demands of illegal taxation will be expelled from Chümoukedima jurisdiction and will be banned from conducting any business activity in future,” it was also resolved.
It entrusted the Chümoukedima Town Youth Organization (CTYO) to remain vigilant for movement of any group collecting tax around the jurisdiction of Chümoukedima town to stop the illegal activity.
Further, Chümoukedima Town Women Organisation and Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation were entrusted to jointly conduct checking for bootleggers and drug abusers/peddlers around the town’s vicinity and take strict action against anyone found involved in carrying out these illegal activities.
