Chümoukedima, 14 February (MTNews): In a nail-biting culmination of the football events at the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024, Chumoukedima emerged victorious in the final match against Peren. The intense encounter ended in a 3-3 draw, only to be decided by penalties, where Chumoukedima secured their triumph with a 3-1 score.
The third-place playoff witnessed Phek defeating Dimapur with a score of 2-1, claiming the bronze medal in the process.
The winners’ podium saw Chumoukedima clinching the gold medal, Peren settling for silver, and Phek securing the bronze medal.
The final match was graced by the esteemed presence of Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, as the Chief Guest. The medals were awarded by Abu Metha, Secretary-General of the Nagaland Olympic Association.
