The Chungtia Students’ Union (CSU) has issued a five-day ultimatum to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, demanding immediate action over what it described as an “incomplete and totally unsatisfactory” technical test report on the construction of the 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Sabangya village under Mokokchung district.

In a letter addressed to the Principal Director of the department, the Union expressed strong dissatisfaction with the technical test report dated September 29, 2025, issued through the Executive Engineer of the Medical Engineering Division, Kohima.

The Union pointed out that the test result on a structural beam was marked “Poor and Doubtful,” and that the concrete core compressive strength lacked “clear and substantiated justification,” raising serious concerns about the quality of work and reflecting “unprofessional conduct on the part of Northeast Engineers.”

The Union also reminded the department of a joint resolution made on September 11, 2025, between the Chungtia Students’ Union, Chungtia Village Council, KC Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd., and departmental representatives to hold a follow-up meeting once the test results were made available. However, the Union stated that despite more than nine days having passed since the report’s issuance, the department has not taken any initiative to organize the meeting.

“Multiple attempts have been made by the Union to communicate with your office have gone unanswered, and no official correspondence has been received from your end to date, undermining the Union on this matter,” the letter stated.

Citing the lack of response, the CSU has served a five-day ultimatum to the department to take “immediate and necessary action.” It further cautioned that failure to do so would compel the Union to “initiate our own course of action, for which we will not be deemed liable for any consequences thereof.”
