Mokokchung, February 23 (MTNews): The Urban Development Department, Government of Nagaland, will be organizing a Cleanest ULBs Awards with three categories as well as a Ward level category. Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung and Chumoukedima have been placed in Category 1 while 15 ULBs including Wokha, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Phek, Peren, Kiphire, Medziphema, Jalukie, Pfutsero, Tseminyu, Tuli, Changtongya and Naginimora have been placed under Category 2. Another 20 ULBs including Shamator, Noklak, Meluri, Aboi, Mangkolemba, Longkhim, Bhandari, Tobu, East Dimapur, Tening, Pungro, Chazuba, Seyochung, Niuland, Tamlu, Aghunato, Atoizu, Satakha and Chiephobozou have been placed under category 3.

 

Meanwhile, in the Ward level, a 1st prize and a 2nd prize will be awarded in each ULB.

Activities and timeline for the competition will include “preparation for the ULBs” from 1-28 February, 2022; Inspection and assessment from 1-31 March, 2022; and declaration of awards will be on 5th June, 2022.

First prize and second prize in Category 1 will be awarded Rs.1.50 lakhs and Rs.1 lakh respectively. First prize and second prize in Category 2 will be awarded Rs.1 lakh and Rs.75 thousand respectively, as well as a third prize of Rs.50 thousand. Cash prize award for category 3 will remain the same as Category 2.

For the Ward level competition, a 1st prize and a 2nd prize will be awarded in each of the 39 ULBs with a cash prize of Rs.20 thousand and Rs.10 thousand each respectively.
The competition is being organized as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
