Dr. Nikenlemla Imchen along with her staff and others after the dedication of the state-of-the-art EMS airflow GBT machine at Clover Dental Clinic.

The Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) technology, developed in Switzerland, represents one of the latest innovations in dental hygiene to be introduced in India.

Dr. Nikenlemla Imchen, proprietor of Clover Dental Clinic, highlighted that the Guided Biofilm Therapy system is a “game-changer in oral hygiene, setting the gold standard for minimally invasive, evidence-based prophylaxis.”

“As the most effective and precise cleaning method, Guided Biofilm Therapy removes harmful plaque, tackling cavities, gum disease—especially peri-implantitis—and bad breath at the source without the discomfort of conventional scaling,” she explained.

“Using the EMS Airflow GBT machine, this pain-free procedure is perfect for patients with implants, crowns, bridges, braces, diabetes, etc. It is completely safe and painless and causes no harm to the natural tooth surface,” Dr. Imchen added.

Explaining the procedure, she noted that the GBT uses a gentle yet powerful cleaning process with minimal to zero sensitivity afterward. Therefore, it is suitable for patients of all ages and health conditions and offers a solution to the pain and discomfort typically associated with traditional ultrasonic scaling.
