Kohima, September 2 (MTNews): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has informed all government departments to route proposals through proper channel while initiating activities of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in the state. Rio, who also is the Chairperson of the State Level DISHA Committee, said this while chairing the State Level DISHA Committee meeting on August 31 at the Chief Minister’s Office. The meeting also deliberated on the matter pertaining to the development activities of all the flagship programs under the various departments in the State.
The Chief Minister also advised the Departments to seek proper advice and briefing on various programs implementation by the concerned Department. He also mentioned the Union Finance Minister’s comment during her CSR Conclave visit and apprised the department officials to work with utmost dedication. He also urged the departments to bring to his notice any hurdle which requires his intervention for taking up the matter with the Government of India and also suggested that it should be informed to the two MPs of the State.
Minister and Co-Chairperson of the State Level DISHA Committee, Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development and Co-Chairperson of the State Level DISHA Committee delivered the welcome address and encouraged the various departments to converge all the schemes for better cohesiveness.
Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Member, State Level DISHA Committee, S Phangnon Konyak, emphasized that benefits of all schemes should reach to the last person for whom it is targeted.
In the meeting, nine major departments namely, Social Welfare, School Education, Health & Family Welfare, Works & Housing, Rural Development, Agriculture, Urban and Municipal Affairs, Power and PHE highlighted their achievements covering FY 2021-22 and 2022-2023, and issues faced by the departments on the implementation of the CSS programs.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks from Neposo Theluo, IAS, Secretary, Rural Development Department and Member Secretary, State Level DISHA Committee.
