Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday visited the Chümoukedima Football Stadium ahead of the Nagaland Super League (NSL) scheduled to kick off on January 28. During his visit, he interacted with the footballers training for the league at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium, which is one of the venues for the NSL.

He was accompanied by Abu Metha, Advisor to the CM and vice president of the Athletics Federation of India, along with officials of the Sports Department, the Nagaland Football Association and local community representatives. In a post on X, the CM said that he was looking forward to the state’s first professional football league under the Nagaland Olympic Association, Nagaland Football Association and the All India Football Federation.
