Chiechama, 11 December (MTNews): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio emphasized the rising global trend of meritocracy and urged youth to embrace competition. Rio underscored the importance of upholding democratic principles for societal harmony, warning of destructive consequences if neglected. The Chief Minister was speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Chiechama Village Youth Organization (CVYO) at Rülouchü (Amphitheatre) in Chiechama today as the special guest.

Stating that Chiechama is the largest village in his Assembly Constituency, Rio added that other villages look forward to them to emulate their unity and cooperation. While acknowledging Chiechama as his ancestral village, where his forefathers lived, he praised its trailblazing contributions and urged citizens to uphold the village’s prestige and that of the Angami tribe.

Highlighting the significance of youth as future leaders, Rio advised youngsters to seek blessings and guidance to navigate the present competitive society. He noted the progress of the Chakhesang tribe in sports, music, education, and competitive exams while cautioning the Angami tribe against complacency. Rio called for a spirit of competition starting from home, family, and villages, asserting the government’s efforts to empower youth. The Chief Minister implored unity and stressed the need to live as one community. As a symbolic gesture, Chief Minister Rio unveiled the CVYO Golden Jubilee monolith.
