Medziphema, May 6 (MTNews): Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio inaugurated and unveiled the plaque of the Medziphema Town Community Centre and Medziphema City Centre funded under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (RAY) (2014-2015) in the presence of Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Govt. of Nagaland Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire and Advisor, Sericulture, Excise, and Minority Affairs, Govt. of Nagaland, Zhaleo Rio on 6th May 2022 at Medziphema.
Zhaleo Rio gave a brief report and shared insights about this “dream project” and thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, the Municipal Affairs under the able leadership of Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire, and the Technical department for fulfilling the promise. He also hoped and looked forward to bringing more development programmes to both rural and urban Medziphema Sub-Division.
Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire advised the citizens of Medziphema on maintaining the City Centre as their own property and highlighted the works and functions of the Municipal Department.
Chief Minister Rio expressed happiness at the inauguration of both the Medziphema Community and the City Centre. He congratulated the department for building this project and also appreciated the contractors for doing commendable work. He also thanked the Govt. of India, and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for sanctioning the required financial support, and on the ground seeing it materialize, he also thanked the people for making it a reality.
He further stated that Medziphema Sub-Division on the highway and in between Kohima and Dimapur is an important location and has so much potential and that’s why various other departments have come to this place for their establishments like SASRD, ICAR, Horticulture for excellence, and many other Departments. The community needs a place to govern and the leaders should comfortably work for the welfare of the public. He was hopeful that the people would use it efficiently for their own welfare. He said the Govt. has spent a large amount of money but if the local people don’t utilize it, it becomes a huge waste, and he requested the people to protect the assets and maintain and also suggested optimum utilization.
Rio further stated that Medziphema, being a very important place and having the City Centre, the public should know how to utilize it, know how to produce, and what to produce. He suggested to the public the need for a wholesale market. He mentioned the budget speech where Rs. 65 crore loan will be given to micro-financing farmers and also micro-entrepreneurs upon which he urged the people to be sincere and to work hard so that the Government can also help in aiding them financially. He suggested the people, especially the youths, to take training in the Agricultural allied sector and make themselves progressive modern farmers and urged them to use their establishment to the limit.
Rio also assured to help in the development of roads under Medziphema Town. Lastly, he called upon the people and leaders to come forth with a voice and unity for the welfare and peace and to build up the township.
