Mokokchung, 28 February (MTNews): Chief Minister Rio highlighted progress on the Mariani-Mokokchung road, extending from Sewak Gate to the 63 KM Longtho valley. He confirmed that the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for the Short Term Maintenance Contract (STMC) was issued in February 2024.
Chief Minister Rio also disclosed that the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has engaged a Project Management consultancy for the diversion of the highway from Changki village. The consultancy is currently conducting survey works, and the alignment of the road will be determined based on technical feasibility assessments.
In regard to the road from Doyang to Izheto Village (in VK area), Chief Minister Rio said the Department has recently issued LOA and that the work should commence soon.
He said this in response to the question raised by MLA Imkong Imchen during his Motion of Thanks to governor’s speech.
